Messezentrum, Nuremberg December 1976 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising British rock group Wishbone Ash at the Messezentrum in Nuremberg [Germany] on Sunday, 5th December, 1976, presented by Sunrise, and with Sutherland Brothers & Quiver and Lake as special guests. The show in Nuremberg was part of the band’s December 1976 European tour in support of New England, their seventh studio album, produced by Ron and Howard Albert, and released in October 1976. Compared to their previous album, Locked In, the album was a success, but still only peaked at #22 in the UK Albums Chart. The album marked the “Americanization” of Wishbone Ash, as the band relocated from England to the Northeastern United States (New England) for tax purposes. New England contained an even balance of hard rock songs and breezy, soft rock ballads, the latter of which would see further exploration from Wishbone Ash on their next studio album, Front Page News. The poster features artwork by Roland Schmidt, with the artist’s imprint to the center of the bottom border.

The poster measures 59.0 x 83.7 cm (approx. 23.2″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. In near excellent unfolded condition with a tiny closed rip to the top left corner. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
