Ernst-Merck-Halle, Hamburg October 1954 concert program + ticket
Original vintage concert program for American jazz singer Sarah Vaughan (1924–1990) at the Ernst-Merck-Halle in Hamburg [Germany] on Friday, 22nd October, 1954, with jazz tenor saxophonists Coleman Hawkins (1904–1969) and Illinois Jacquet (1922–2004) also on the bill. Sarah Vaughan was accompanied by pianist Jimmy Jones, bassist Joe Benjamin and drummer Roy Haines. Original ticket for the concert laid in. The concert in Hamburg was part of a package tour that originally should have included Charlie Parker had it not been for his suicide attempt the previous month. Coleman Hawkins was called in as a replacement for Bird.
One sheet folded into four pages, 20.0 x 26.0 cm. All text in German. Folded horizontally at the middle, else in excellent unmarked condition. Additional photos available on request.
