Congress Centrum in Hamburg November 1974 concert poster (Zrocke)

Original first printing concert poster advertising Irish folk band The Dubliners at the Congress Centrum in Hamburg [Germany] on Friday, 8th November, 1974, presented by Karsten Jahnke. The band was touring in support of Live — an album recorded live at the Fiesta Club in Sheffield and released in 1974 by Polydor Records. This was to be Ronnie Drew’s last recording with The Dubliners for five years as he left to pursue a solo career. Also following this album, Ciarán Bourke ceased to be a full-time member of the group when he suffered a brain haemorrhage. He sings “All for Me Grog” here. The reels that open this album (and which first were released on the group’s 1967 studio album A Drop of the Hard Stuff) have become the opening instrumental medley at most of their concerts since. The poster features artwork by Paul-Helmut Zrocke, with the artist’s imprint to the lower right side border.

The poster measures 59.2 x 83.8 cm (approx. 23.3″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. Very light edge wear to the upper left side border, else in excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
