1979 Japanese United Artists promotional poster for “An American Dream”
Large original first printing The Dirt Band promotional poster issued by United Artists in Japan in 1979 to promote the release of the An American Dream album — the band’s eleventh studio album, produced by Jeff Hanna and Bob Edwards and originally released in late 1979 by United Artists in the US. The album’s title track, written by Rodney Crowell, was released as a single in 1980. The song featured a backing vocal from Linda Ronstadt. It accounted for their second-highest Hot 100 peak of 13, and was also their first appearance on the Billboard country music charts since 1973. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
The poster measures 83.7 x 59.3 cm (approx. 33″ by 23.3″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. Light sporadic edge wear, else in near excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
