Original first printing concert poster advertising British singer-songwriter Al Stewart (1945) at the Hokkaido Welfare Pension Hall in Sapporo [Japan] on Sunday, 29th July, 1979, presented by Ongakusya. The concert in Sapporo was the last stop on Stewart’s 6-date Japanese tour during July in support of the Time Passages album – his eighth studio album, produced by Alan Parsons, and originally released on 8th September, 1978 on RCA Records in the UK and Arista Records in the USA. Containing the singles “Time Passages” and “Song on the Radio”, the album reached #10 on the Billboard 200, and stayed on the chart for 31 weeks (1 week in the top 10). It was certified Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) in March 1979 for sales exceeding 1,000,000 copies in the US. In the UK, the album peaked at #39 and was certified Silver by the BPI in March 1981 for sales exceeding 60,000 copies. A digitally remastered version of the album was released in 2004.
The poster measures 50.0 x 72.7 cm (approx. 19.7″ by 28.6″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, gloss-coated paper stock.
