Grosse Freiheit, Hamburg July 2004 concert poster
Large original first printing concert poster advertising American, singer, songwriter and poet Patti Smith at the Grosse Freiheit in Hamburg [Germany] on Thursday, 15th July, 2004, presented by Karsten Jahnke. Smith was touring in support of the Trampin’ album, her ninth studio album, produced by Patti Smith herself, and released on 27th April, 2004 on Columbia Records, her first album on that label. Trampin’ included several songs about motherhood, partly in tribute to Smith’s mother, who had died two years before. The touring band featured guitarists Lenny Kaye and Oliver Ray, bassist Tony Shanahan, and drummer Jay Dee Daugherty.
The poster measures 59.3 x 83.8 cm (approx. 23.3″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, dull-coated paper stock.
