Containing the hit singles “Well All Right”, “Stormy”, and “One Chain (Don’t Make No Prison)”, the album reached the #27 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the chart for 33 weeks. It was certified Gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) in October 1978 for sales exceeding 500,000 copies in the US. In the UK, the album peaked at #17 and stayed on the UK Album Chart for 16 weeks. It was certified Gold by the BPI (British Phonographic Industry) in January 1979 for sales exceeding 100,000 copies in the United Kingdom alone. Robert Christgau (Xgau) gave the album a C+ rating. To support the album, Santana went on an extensive European tour during November and December 1978. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
