Kongresshalle, Frankfurt April 1977 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising British rock group Rough Diamond at the Kongresshalle in Frankfurt [Germany] on Friday, 29th April, 1977, presented by Lippmann+Rau in cooperation with Stimmen der Welt. Formed by singer David Byron, after leaving Uriah Heep, along with former Colosseum and Humble Pie guitarist Clem Clempson and ex-Wings drummer Geoff Britton, Rough Diamond recorded one self-titled album for Island Records, released in March 1977. Peaking at a modest #103 on the Billboard 200, the album sold poorly and Byron left to pursue a solo career. He was replaced by Gary Bell, changing their name to Champion, and recording an album for Epic Records the following year before disbanding.

The poster measures 59.9 x 83.7 cm (approx. 23.6″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. Folded twice with light wear along the fold lines and a tiny closed rip to the upper right side border. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
