Sporthalle, Cologne April 1977 concert poster (Schmidt)

Original first printing concert poster advertising American musician and songwriter Lou Reed (1942–2013) at the Sporthalle in Cologne [Germany] on Monday, 4th April, 1977, presented by Sunrise Concertbüro. The show in Cologne was part of Reed’s Spring 1977 European tour in support of the Rock And Roll Heart album. Recorded at the Record Plant in New York and produced by Reed himself, the album was released in October 1976 on Arista Records. This was Reed’s first album for Arista, having previously recorded for RCA. The poster features Warholesque artwork by Roland Schmidt, with the artist’s imprint to the center of the bottom border.

The poster measures 59.3 x 83.8 cm (approx. 23.3″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. Neatly folded, else in excellent unmarked condition.
