1982 Japanese Polydor Records promotional poster for “Straight Between the Eyes”

Original first printing Rainbow promotional poster issued by Polydor Records in Japan in 1982 to promote the release of the Straight Between the Eyes album – the band’s sixth studio album, produced by Roger Glover and originally released in April 1982 on the Polydor label. It was the first album to feature keyboard player David Rosenthal, replacing the departing Don Airey, who had been with Rainbow since 1979. Containing the singles “Stone Cold” and “Death Alley Driver”, the album peaked at #30 on the Billboard 200, and stayed on the chart for 23 weeks. In the UK, the album reached #5 on the UK Album Chart and was certified Silver by the BPI (British Recorded Music Industry) in April 1982 for sales exceeding 60,000 copies. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.

The poster measures 72.7 x 51.4 cm (approx. 28.6″ by 20.2″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
