Müngersdorfer Stadion, Cologne & Bieberer Berg, Offenbach June 1977 concert poster
Original first printing concert poster advertising the “Open Air Festival ’77” staged at the Müngersdorfer Stadion in Cologne on Friday, 17th June and Stadion am Bieberer Berg in Offenbach on Sunday, 19th June, 1977, presented by MAMA Concerts. Performing artists included Genesis, Gentle Giant and Lake, and although not featured on the poster, Manfred Mann’s Earth Band. For Genesis, the concert was part of the European leg of their “Wind & Wuthering Tour”, kicking off at the Johanneshovs Isstadion in Stockholm on 4th June and ending at the Hallenstadion in Zürich on 2nd July, 1977. It was their last tour with guitarist Steve Hackett, and the first with Chester Thompson as their touring drummer. Recordings from the concerts in Paris were used for the band’s second live album Seconds Out, released in October 1977.
The poster measures 59.3 x 41.9 cm (approx. 23.3 by 16.5 inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition.
