Yubin Chokin Kaikan, Tokyo October 1981 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising American jazz singer Carmen McRae at the Yubin Chokin Kaikan in Tokyo [Japan] on Saturday, 3rd October, 1981, presented by All Art Promotion. On the Japanese tour, McRae was presumably accompanied by pianist Marshall Otwell, double bassist Jay Anderson, and drummer Mark Pulice. McRae was touring in support of the I’m Coming Home Again album, originally released in 1980 on Buddah Records. The Japanese issue had different cover from original, and was released by Trio Records, a Japanese label, primarily known for its jazz releases. The poster features a photo by jazz photographer Katsuji Abe, with the artist’s imprint to the lower right side border.

The poster measures 51.3 x 72.8 cm (approx. 20.2″ by 28.6″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have regarding this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
