Philipshalle, Düsseldorf April 1975 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising Manfred Mann’s Earth Band at the Philipshalle in Düsseldorf [Germany] on Wednesday, 30th April, 1975, with Climax Blues Band as special guests. Presented by Sunrise Concertbüro in cooperation with Octopus Production, the show was part of the band’s Spring 1975 European tour in support of their fifth studio album, The Good Earth. Recorded at The Workhouse in London and produced by the band themselves, the album was released on 11th October, 1974 on Bronze Records. Containing the single “Be Not Too Hard”, the album peaked at a modest #157 on the Billboard 200. For what it’s worth, early owners of one copy of this album were entitled to rights over one square foot of the earth situated at Llanerchyrfa in the County of Brecon, Wales in Great Britain. The inner sleeve included a coupon that had to be sent for registration. This was part of the promotion activities linked to the album that had ecological inspirations. There was no swindle and thousands of fans were registered. Registration could be done on or before 31st December, 1975.

The poster measures 59.4 x 83.8 cm (approx. 23.4″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded condition with very light edge wear to the center of the top border. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
