1976 Japanese Swan Song/Warner-Pioneer Corporation promotional poster for “The Song Remains the Same”

Original first printing Led Zeppelin promotional poster issued by Swan Song/Warner-Pioneer Corporation in Japan in 1976 to promote the release of the soundtrack album from the film “The Song Remains the Same”. Produced by Jimmy Page, the album was released on 22nd October, 1976 by Swan Song Records. The album was released in Japan as part of the “Pick Up Your Music” series – a series of Japanese releases issued by Warner-Pioneer Corporation in 1976. The recording of the album and the film took place during three nights of concerts at New York’s Madison Square Garden from 27th to 29th July, 1973. All songs were recorded by Eddie Kramer using the Wally Heider Mobile Studio truck, and later mixed at Electric Lady Studios in New York and Trident Studios in London. Although the album received mixed reviews, it still reached #2 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the chart for 48 weeks (7 week in the top 10). It was certified 4x Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) in February 1997 for sales exceeding 4,000,000 copies in the US. In the UK, the album  reached #1 and stayed on the UK Album Chart for 16 weeks. It was certified Platinum by the BPI for sales exceeding 300,000 copies in the United Kingdom alone. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.

The poster measures 72.8 x 51.4 cm (approx. 28.7″ by 20.2″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded condition with light foxing to the bottom right corner. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
