Freiheitshalle, Hof November 1975 concert poster (Zrocke)

Original first printing concert poster advertising British blues legend Alexis Korner (1928–1984) at the Freiheitshalle in Hof [Germany] on Thursday, 6th November, 1975, presented by Hamburg impresario Kartsen Jahnke. Alexis Korner was rightly considered to be one of the finest performers in Germany and Scandinavia during his lifetime, even though he was practically neglected at home in England, and known only by a select few in the US. His outlook, like his deep gravelly voice, was unique. His music, at times eclectic, was original, ranging from the origins of British skiffle through country and electric blues, big-band, rock, and acoustic solo and duo. Alexis Korner sadly passed away in London on 1st January, 1984, a victim of throat cancer. The poster features artwork by Paul-Helmut Zrocke, with the artist’s imprint to the bottom left corner.

The poster measures 59.4 x 84.0 cm (approx. 23.4″ by 33.1″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. Tiny closed rip to the lower left side border, else in excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
