May/June 1971 UK concert tour flyer

Original double-sided first printing concert flyer advertising English progressive rock band King Crimson’s May/June 1971 nationwide tour of Great Britain, presented by John & Tony Smith. Commencing at the City Hall in Newcastle on 15th May and ending at the Winter Gardens in Bournemouth on 2nd June, the tour was in support of the Lizard album, their third studio album, produced by Robert Fripp and Peter Sinfield, and released on 10th December, 1970 on the Island label. Lizard was the second consecutive King Crimson album recorded by transitional line-ups of the group that did not perform live, following In the Wake of Poseidon. It is the only album by the band to feature bassist/vocalist Gordon Haskell (apart from his appearance on the song “Cadence and Cascade” from the previous album) and drummer Andy McCulloch as official members of the band.

The flyer measures 22.8 x 17.8 cm (approx. 6″ by 9″ inches) and is beautifully printed in black ink on thin, tan-colored, smooth-finish paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the flyer available on request.
