Kerouac’s contribution is “Køkkenhavets helte” (“Slobs of the Kitchen Sea”) from Lonesome Traveler, translated by Finn Holten Hansen. Burroughs’ contribution is “Smørrebrød” (“Smorbrot”) from Nova Express, translated by Erik Wiedemann. Other contributors to this anthology include John Barth, Saul Bellow, Truman Capote, J.P. Donleavy, Ralph Ellison, Shirley Ann Grau, John Hawkes, Leroi Jones, Norman Mailer, Bernard Malamud, John Rechy, Philip Roth, Hubert Selby Jr., and John Updike.
