Originally published by Grove Press in 1959, Doctor Sax tells the story of Jackie Duluoz, based on Kerouac himself, relating a dream in which he finds himself in Lowell, his childhood home town. Prompted by this dream, he recollects the story of his childhood along with his shrouded childhood fantasies.
