Colston Hall, Bristol March 1960 concert flyer

Original first printing concert flyer advertising Norman Granz’ Jazz At The Philharmonic at the Colston Hall in Bristol [England] on Friday, 18th March, 1960, presented by the Entertainments Committee and Charles H. Lockier in association with Harold Davison. The two shows at the Colston Hall were part of the third JATP British Tour and featured Ella Fitzgerald, Shelly Manne & His Men, the Jimmy Giuffre Trio, the Paul Smith Quartet, and trumpeter Roy Eldridge. Besides playing their own spot, it was the Paul Smith Quartet that were responsible for accompanying Ella Fitzgerald. Guitarist Jim Hall and double-bassist Wilfred Middlebrooks of the Paul Smith Quartet served a dual purpose on the tour as they also accompanied Jimmy Giuffre.

The flyer measures 14.5 x 22.8 cm and is beautifully printed in yellow and black inks on thin, matte-coated paper stock. Complete with the original postal booking form still intact. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the flyer available on request.
