1984 Japanese WEA/Warner-Pioneer Corporation promotional poster for “The Swing”

Large original first printing INXS promotional poster issued by WEA/Warner-Pioneer Corporation in Japan in 1984 to promote the release of The Swing – the band’s fourth studio album, produced by Nick Launay and Nile Rodgers, and originally released on 21st March, 1984. Containing the singles “Original Sin” (featuring Daryl Hall on backing vocals), “I send a Message”, “Burn for Your”, and “Dancing on the Jetty”, the album featured a slightly harder-edged sound than their previous releases. It reached #52 on the Billboard 200, and stayed on the chart for 28 weeks. It was certified Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) in February 2001 for sales exceeding 1,000,000 copies in the US alone. The poster features a photo by Kazumi Ohkuma, with the artist’s imprint to the bottom right corner. The poster was for promotional purposes only and was never made commercially available.

The poster measures 59.4 x 83.9 cm (approx. 23.4″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In near excellent unfolded condition with minimal sporadic edge wear. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
