Laeiszhalle, Hamburg November 2010 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising Herbie Hancock at the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg [Germany] on Wednesday, 24th November, 2010, in support of The Imagine Project — his his forty-seventh studio album, produced by John Alagia and Derek Trucks, and released on 22nd June, 2010. The album, which was recorded in many locations throughout the world and featured collaborations with various artists, contained. Hancock’s interpretations of John Lennon’s “Imagine”, Bob Dylan’s “The Times They Are A-Changin'”, Bob Marley’s “Exodus”, and others. The version of “Imagine” was inspired by the Congolese group Konono No. 1, and won the 2011 Grammy Award for “Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals” (the final year that that award was given). The instruments used on “The Times They Are A-Changin” combine the West African kora with the Celtic flute, fiddle and Uilleann pipes.  Hancock’s touring band for the European tour included drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, bassist Tal Wilkenfeld, guitarist Lionel Loueke, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes, and singer and violinist Kristina Train.
