1980 Japanese RCA Records promotional poster for “Voices”
Original first printing Hall & Oates promotional poster issued by RCA Records in Japan in 1980 to promote the release of the Voices album – the duo’s ninth studio album, produced by Daryl Hall and John Oates, and originally released on 29th July, 1980 on RCA Records. It was the first album that Hall & Oates produced by themselves, working in conjunction with engineer Neil Kernon. Containing the singles “How Does It Feel to Be Back”, “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin'”, “Kiss on My List”, and “You Make My Dreams”, the album reached #17 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the chart for a massive 100 weeks. It was certified Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) in January 1982 for sales exceeding 1,000,000 copies in the US. The poster features a photo credited to Masashi Kuwamoto, with the artist’s imprint to the bottom left corner. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
The poster measures 51.5 x 72.5 cm (approx. 20.3″ by 28.5″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition.
