November/December 1987 German concert tour poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising Irish rock guitarist and singer Rory Gallagher’s Nov/Dec 1987 eight-date German tour in support of the Defender album, commencing at the Circus Krone in Munich on 20th November and ending at the Stadionhalle in Rottweil on 6th December, 1987. Recorded at various studio locations in London and produced by Gallagher himself, Defender was his tenth studio album, and featured bassist Gerry McAvoy and drummer Brendan O’Neill, as well as a number of invited guests. Released on 1st July, 1987, Defender was Gallagher first album to be released on the Capo label. The song “Continental Op” was inspired by the nameless fictional detective created by American author Dashiell Hammett, and was dedicated to Hammett.

The poster measures 84.1 x 59.6 cm (approx. 33.1″ by 23.4″ inches) and is beautifully printed in red and yellow inks on thin, coated paper stock.
