March/April 1978 Japanese concert tour program
Large original concert program produced for English/American rock group Foreigner’s March/April 1978 Japanese tour, presented by Universal Orient Promotions. The 5-date tour commenced at the Sunpu Hall in Shizuoka on 30th March and ended at the Civic Hall in Kokura on 6th April, 1978. The tour was a historic milestone for the band, marking their first time performing in Japan. Coming fresh off the massive success of their 1977 self-titled debut album and a legendary performance at California Jam II, the tour featured Foreigner’s classic original lineup at the peak of their early chemistry: singer Lou Gram, lead guitarist Mick Jones, guitarist and keyboard player Ian McDonald, keyboardist Al Greenwood, bassist Ed Gagliardi, and drummer Dennis Elliott. Because they only had one album out at the time, their roughly 75-minute sets relied heavily on their debut record, alongside a few early previews of their next album. The tour captured Foreigner right before they vaulted into superstardom with their sophomore album, Double Vision. Their live performance at the Nippon Budokan on 4th April became a highly sought-after bootleg among collectors for decades due to its pristine audience recordings.
In original illustrated coated wrappers, staple bound, 25.7 x 36.2 cm, 32 pp. All text in Japanese. In excellent complete condition, tightly bound and clean.
