1973 Japanese Verve Records promotional poster for “Ella Swings Lightly”

Original first printing Ella Fitzgerald (1917–1996) promotional poster issued by Verve Records in Japan in 1973 to promote the release of Ella Swings Lightly as part of their Modern Jazz Best series. The album was originally released in 1958. Other artists in this series included Stan Getz, Oscar Peterson, Wes Montgomery, Michel Legrand, Bill Evans, Gil Evans, Lalo Schifron, Gerry Mulligan, and Phil Woods. The poster features a striking photo of Fitzgerald credited to photographer Tadayuki Naito, with his imprint to the bottom right corner. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.

The poster measures 51.2 x 72.7 cm (approx. 20.2″ by 28.6″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. In excellent unfolded condition.
