Description
1983 Japanese RCA Records promo poster
Original first printing Eurythmics promotional poster issued by RCA Records in Japan in the early 1980s, presumably in 1983 to promote the release of Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) – their only second studio album, produced by David Stewart with Adam Williams and Robert Crash, and released on 4th January, 1983. Containing the singles “This Is the House”, “The Walk”, “Love Is a Stranger”, and “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)”, the album reached #15 on the Billboard 200. It was certified Gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for selling over 500,000 certified units. The album is included in Robert Dimery’s book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die, published in 2005. For what it’s worth, the RCA Records catalog was manufactured in Japan by Victor Music Industries. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
The poster measures 72.6 x 51.3 cm (approx. 28.6″ by 20.2″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In remarkably near excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
