1960s Christmas and New Year Greetings promo poster

Original first printing Duke Ellington promo poster issued in the 1960s and sent to friends, relatives and fans as a Christmas and New Year greeting. Widely considered the greatest jazz composer and bandleader of his time, Ellington died on 24th May, 1974, of complications from lung cancer and pneumonia, a few weeks after his 75th birthday. He was interred in the Woodlawn Cemetery, the Brox, New York City. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.

The poster measures 39.2 x 52.2 cm (approx. 15.4″ by 20.5″ inches) and is beautifully printed in red ink on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. In excellent condition. Folded as issued.
