November 1965 German concert poster (Michel+Kieser)

Original first printing concert poster designed to promote the Dizzy Gillespie Quintet and the Jimmy Smith Trio’s joint November 1965 German tour, presented by German impresarios Horst Lippmann and Fritz Rau in association with Norman Granz. Dizzy’s Quintet for the European tour featured pianist Kenny Baron, bassist Christopher Wesley White, saxophonist and flutist James Moody, and drummer Rudy Collins. Jimmy Smith was accompanied  by drummer Billy Hart and guitarist Quentin Warren. The poster features delicate artwork by noted German graphic duo, Hans Michel and Günther Kieser.
