Hemmerleinhalle, Neunkirchen May 1979 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising British rock group Dire Straits at the Hemmerleinhalle in Neunkirchen [Germany] on Wednesday, 30th May, 1979, presented by MAMA Concerts. The concert in Neunkirchen was part of a nine-date German tour in support of the Communiqué album, commencing with two shows at the Stadthalle in Offenbach on 23rd and 24th May and ending at the Stadthalle in Freiburg on 2nd June, 1979. Recorded at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas, and produced by Barry Beckett and Jerry Wexler, the album was released on 15th June, 1979 on the Vertigo label. Containing the hit single “Lady Writer”, the album reached #1 on album charts in Germany, New Zealand, and Sweden, #11 in the United States and #5 in the United Kingdom. Communiqué was later certified gold in the United States, platinum in the United Kingdom and double-platinum in France.

The poster measures 83.7 x 59.3 cm (approx. 33″ by 23.3″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock.
