Philipshalle, Düsseldorf September 1976 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising American entertainer Sammy Davis Jr. (1925—1990) at the Philipshalle in Düsseldorf [Germany] on Wednesday, 22nd September, 1976, presented by Lippmann+Rau in cooperation with René Heinersdorff, and with jazz singer Billy Eckstine and the Nicholas Brothers also on the bill. The show in Düsseldorf was part of six date tour of Germany and Austria, commencing at the Deutschlandhalle in Berlin on 15th September and ending at the Congress Centrum in Hamburg on 2nd October, 1976. Davis died of complications from throat cancer at his home in Beverly Hills on 16th May, 1990, aged 64. On 18th May, 1990, two days after his death, the neon lights of the Las Vegas were darkened for 10 minutes as a tribute.

The poster measures 59.8 x 84.2 cm (approx. 23.5″ by 33.1″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock.
