John Coltrane c. 1966 Impulse!/ABC Records promo poster
Exceedingly scarce original first printing John Coltrane promotional poster issued by Impulse! Records presumably around 1966/67. Established by Creed Taylor in 1960, Coltrane was among Impulse!’s earliest signings. Thanks to consistent sales and positive critiques of his recordings, the label came to be known as “the house that Trane built”.
The poster measures 51.4 x 72.9 cm (approx. 20.2″ by 28.7″ inches) and is beautifully printed on medium-thin, smooth-finish paper stock. There is a tack to each corner and a one inch closed tear to the center of the bottom border, else in remarkably near excellent unfolded condition.
