Waldbühne, Berlin August 2010 concert poster

Large original first printing concert poster Canadian singer-songwriter and poet Leonard Cohen at the Waldbühne in Berlin [Germany] on Wednesday, 18th August, 2010, presented by Karsten Jahnke. The concert in Berlin was part of Cohen’s extensive European tour in support of the Songs from the Road live album, commencing at Arena Zagreb in Zagreb on 25th July and ending at the Sibamac Arena in Bratislava on 13th October, 2010. The tour was scheduled to start in March, but the first dozen of the original European dates were postponed to September and October due to Cohen’s lower-back injury. Cohen’s touring band included bassist Roscoe Beck, drummer Rafael Bernardo Gayol, jazz keyboardist Neil Larsen, and guitarist Bob Metzger, as well as background singers Sharon Robinson, Charley Webb, and Hattie Webb. Recorded during his 2008 and 2009 tours, Songs from the Road was released on 14th September, 2010 on Columbia Records, and appeared roughly fourteen months after releasing Live in London, which preserved Cohen’s July 2008 performance at London’s O2 Arena. While the new album wasn’t exactly a collection of rarities, it did feature a number of lesser-known tunes (such as “Heart with No Companion” and “That Don’t Make It Junk”) and variant versions of some of his more famous numbers. The selections were taken from a wide variety of locations, including Tel Aviv, Scotland, Finland, and Cohen’s native Canada. The album peaked at #112 on the Billboard 200.

The poster measures 59.3 x 83.8 cm (approx. 23.3 by 33 inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, matte-coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition.
