Palais des Beaux-Arts, Brussels March 1985 concert poster
Original first printing concert poster advertising Canadian singer-songwriter and poet Leonard Cohen (1934–2016) at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels [Belgium] on Monday, 4th March, 1985. The concert in Brussels was tpart of an extensive European tour in support of the Various Positions album. The band for the tour featured drummer Richard Crooks, bassist John Crowder, guitarists Ron Getman and Mitch Watkins, and keyboardist Anjani Thomas. Recorded at Quadrasonic Sound Studios in New York and produced by John Lissauer, Various Positions was released on 11th December, 1984 on the independent label Passport Records. Featuring the classics “Hallelujah” and “Dance Me to the End of Love”, Various Positions was Cohen’s seventh studio album and marked a turn to the modern sound and use of synthesizers.
The poster measures 99.7 x 70.0 cm (approx. 39.2″ by 27.5″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock.
