1980 Japanese RSO Records promotional poster for “Just One Night”

Large original first printing Eric Clapton (1945) promotional poster issued by RSO Records in Japan in 1980 to promote the release of the Just One Night album – a double live album, produced by Clapton himself with Jon Astley, and originally released in April 1980 on Robert Stigwood’s RSO Records. The album was recorded at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo during Clapton’s December 1979 Japanese tour in support of the Backless album. Clapton’s touring band at the time featured guitarist Albert Lee, keyboard player Chris Stainton, bassist Dave Markee, and drummer Henry Spinett. Containing the singles “Tulsa Time”, “Cocaine” and “The Shape You’re In”, the album reached #2 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the chart for 31 weeks (11 weeks in the top 10). It was certified Gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) in June 1980 for sales exceeding 500,000 copies in the US. In the UK, the album peaked at #3 and stayed on the UK Album Chart for 12 weeks. It was certified Silver by the BPI (British Phonographic Industry) in July 1980 for sales exceeding 60,000 copies in the United Kingdom alone. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.

The poster measures 59.4 x 83.9 cm (approx. 23.4″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock.
