Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium, Nagoya April 1973 concert poster 

Original first printing concert poster advertising American rock group Chicago at the Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium in Nagoya [Japan] on Tuesday, 17th April, 1973, presented by Seijiru Udo’s UDO Artists Inc. The Nagoya show was part of the group’s Japanese tour during April in support of the Chicago VI album – their fifth studio album, produced by James William Guercio, and originally released on 25th June, 1973 on Columbia Records. Containing the singles “Feeling Stronger Every Day” and “Just You ‘n’ Me”, the album reached #1 on the Billboard 200, and was the band’s second in a string of five consecutive albums to make it to #1 in the US. It stayed 73 weeks on the chart (5 weeks at #1 and 10 weeks in the top 10) and was certified 2x Platinum in November 1986 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for sales exceeding 2,000,000 copies in the US. Chicago’s 1973 Japanese tour commenced at the Hokkaido Welfare Pension Hall in Sapporo on 6th April, and ended with three consecutive shows at the Welfare Pension Hall in Osaka on 18th, 19th & 20th April, 1973.

The poster measures 51.3 x 72.5 cm (approx. 20.2″ by 28.5″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock.
