Original first printing concert poster advertising American pop duo Carpenters at the City Central Gymnasium in Kobe [Japan] on Monday, 29th September, 1975, presented by Kyodo Tokyo, and with American singer, songwriter and pianist Neil Sedaka as special guest star. The show in Kobe was part of their Japanese tour during September in support of the Horizon album – their sixth studio album, produced by Richard Carpenter, and released on 6th June, 1975 on A&M Records. Containing the singles “Please Mr. Postman”, “Only Yesterday”, and “Solitaire”, the album peaked at #13 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the chart for 18 weeks. It was certified Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) in April 1998 for sales exceeding 1,000,000 copies in the US. In the UK, the album reached #1 and was certified Gold by the BPI (British Recorded Music Industry) for sales exceeding 100,000 copies.
