1976 Japanese GAMA Records/Decca promotional poster for “Moonmadness”

Original first printing Camel promotional poster issued by GAMA Records/Decca in Japan in 1976 to promote the release of the Moonmadness album – the band’s fourth studio album, produced by Rhett Davies, and originally released in April 1976. GAMA Records was an independent record label founded in 1973 by Geoff Jukes, Richard Thomas, and Max Hole. The label  mainly released British progressive rock and folk and was active until the early 1980s. Moonmadness was the last album recorded by the group’s original line-up of Andrew Latimer, Peter Bardens, Doug Ferguson, and Andy Ward. The album reached #15 on the UK Album Chart and was certified Silver by the BPI  for sales exceeding 60,000 copies. In the US, the album peaked at #118 on the Billboard 200. In 2018, 42 years after its release, Camel performed the album live in its entirety. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.

The poster measures 76.1 x 50.7 cm (approx. 30″ by 20″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In remarkably near excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
