Davis Theatre, Croydon March 1959 concert flyer


Original first printing concert handbill advertising Louis Armstrong’s two performances at the Davis Theatre in Croydon (London) on Sunday, 8th March, 1959, presented by Harold Davison. The shows in Croydon were part of Armstrong’s February/March 1959 British tour, his only second nationwide tour of Great Britain, commencing at Gaumont State in Kilburn on 28th february and ending at the De Montfort Hall in Leicester on 11th March. The All-Stars consisted of trombonist Trummy Young, clarinetist Peanuts Hucko, pianist Billy Kyle, bassist Mort Herbert, drummer Danny Barcelona, singer Velma Middleton.

The flyer measures 13.9 x 24.4 cm and is beautifully printed in orange and black inks on thin, light coated paper stock. Complete with the original postal booking form still intact. In near excellent unmarked condition. Photo of the back of the flyer available on request.
