Theaterzelt, Bonn June 1979 concert poster

Original first printing concert poster advertising American jazz fusion drummer Alphonse Mouzon (1948—2016) at the Theaterzelt in Bonn [Germany] on Friday, 29th June, 1979, presented by the Kultur Forum in Bonn. Mouzon was touring in support of the Baby Come Back album together with his Electric Band, which at the time featured guitarist Robert Etoll, tenor saxophonist Bob Malach, keyboardist Stu Goldberg, and bassist Rex Robinson. Recorded at Tonstudio Zuckerfabrik in Stuttgart and produced by Mouzon himself, Baby Come Back was released by Metronome Records in 1979 just prior to the tour. The album features disco versions of The Beatles’ “All My Loving” and “I Want to Hold Your Hand” as well as a rendition of  Hendrix’s “Manic Depression”. Having played with McCoy Tyner and Larry Coryell’s Elevnth House before forming his own bands, Mouzon is widely considered one of the inventors of fusion drumming. He died of cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles on 25th December 25, 2016, at the age of 68.

Printed by C. Brandt, Bonn, the poster measures 59.2 x 83.7 cm (approx. 23.3″ by 33″ inches) and is beautifully printed in black ink on medium-thin, uncoated paper stock. Neatly folded, else in remarkably near excellent condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
