1969 Japanese CBS/Sony Records promo poster for “The Boxer”
Large original first printing Simon & Garfunkel promotional poster issued by CBS/Sony Records in Japan in 1969. The poster features a striking photo by Don Hunstein taken in April 1969, one month after “Mrs. Robinson”, the chart-topping single from The Graduate soundtrack, was named Record of the Year at the Grammy Awards. One of the photos from this session ended up being used for the cover of the single “The Boxer” released by CBS/Sony in Japan in 1969. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
The poster measures 59.8 x 89.7 cm (approx. 23.5″ by 35.3″ inches) and is beautifully printed on medium-thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock. In excellent unfolded condition.
