Welfare Pension Hall, Tokyo August 1974 concert poster
Original first printing concert poster advertising legendary American rock group Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s three shows at the Welfare Pension Hall in Tokyo [Japan] on 13th, 28th & 29th August, 1974, with bluegrass fiddler Vassar Clements as special guest artist. Presented by UDO Artists, the band was touring Japan in support of the Stars & Stripes Forever album – their eighth studio album, produced by William E. McEuen and originally released in June 1974 on United Artists Records. The poster also advertises the concert at the Shibuya Public Hall, also in Tokyo, on 27th August, 1974.
The poster measures 51.3 x 72.4 cm (approx. 20.2″ by 28.5″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. There is a faint horizontal crease line to the very top of the poster, else in remarkably near excellent unfolded condition.
