1970 Japanese RCA Victor promo poster for “American Woman”
Original first printing Guess Who promotional poster issued by RCA Victor in Japan in 1970 to promote the release of the American Woman album – their sixth studio album, produced by Jack Richardson, and released in January 1970. It was the last album to feature lead guitarist Randy Bachman until a reformation effort in 1983. Containing the hit singles “No Time” and American Woman”, the album was a huge commercial success, peaking at #9 on the Billboard 200. It was certified Gold by the RIAA for sales exceeding 500,000 million copies in the US alone. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
The poster measures 46.2 x 71.0 cm (approx. 18.2″ by 28″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. Unfolded, but with minimal paper loss to the bottom right corner and light overall surface handling wear. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
