Early 1970s Japanese Odeon Records/Toshiba EMI/Yamaha promo poster

Original first printing The Beatles promotional poster issued in Japan by Odeon Records/Toshiba EMI/Yamaha in the early 1970s. The poster features an uncredited photo by Robert Whitaker of the band at their second press conference at the Bayerische Hof Hotel in Munich at the start of their final world tour, 24th June, 1966. The German leg of the tour, the so-called “Bravo-Beatles-Blitztournee”, was sponsered by the German Bravo magazine. At the press conference, the Beatles were also presented with the ‘Goldener Bravo-Otto’ awards for being the best band in the world. Toshiba Musical Industries, the publisher of EMI in Japan (Toshiba EMI), was in charge of the Beatles in Japan. In January 1963, they divided the classical music into “Angel Records” and the popular music into “Odeon Records”. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.

The poster measures 72.8 x 51.4 cm (approx. 28.6″ by 20.2″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In remarkably near excellent unfolded condition. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have concerning this item. Additional images of the poster available on request.
