Houtrust-Hal, The Hague and Concertgebouw, Amsterdam October 1955 concert program

Original vintage concert program for Louis Armstrong’s performances at the Houtrust-Hal in The Hague and at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam [Holland] on Saturday, 29th October, 1955, presented by Lou van Rees. Armstrong was so popular in Europe that often he would performed two shows in one day. In September 1955 clarinetist Barney Bigard left the All-Stars and was replaced by Edmond Hall for the European tour. The rest of the All-Stars consisted of pianist Billy Kyle, bassist Arvell Shaw, drummer Barrett Deems, trombonist Trummy Young, and singer Velma Middleton. The concert in Amsterdam was recorded in full for Columbia by George Avian and partly released on the Ambassador Satch album.

One sheet folded into four pages, 18.5 x 25.7 cm. All text in Dutch. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition. Additional photos available on request.
