The title of the book translates as Great American Narrators. Kerouac’s contribution is “I Brooklyn” (“In Brooklyn”), an excerpt from The Town and the City (pp. 343-354 in the US first edition), translated by Lars Wilson. The Town and the City has yet to be published in its entirety in Sweden. Other contributors to this anthology include Sherwood Anderson, Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner, John Steinbeck, Erskine Caldwell, Henry Miller, William Saroyan, Carson McCullers, Eudora Welty, Walter Van Tilburg Clark, Paul Bowles, Ray Bradbury, Norman Mailer, and Truman Capote. Unknown number of copies issued 1962. Published at 17.75 Kronor.

Medium octavo (8vo), 15.0 x 22.0 cm, 342 pp. Red leatherette covered boards stamped in gold on spine. In illustrated dull-coated non-price clipped dust jacket. Near fine in very good, slightly rubbed jacket. Additional images of the book available on request.
