First and only printing of the first Danish edition of The Subterraneans, translated by Elsa Gress Wright. 1,000 copies issued March 1959 of which the first 200 copies were “prenumeration” copies and numbered 1-200. These were sent out to subscribers and friends of the publisher before official publication. Front cover artwork by Clifford Wright.
Crown octavo (8vo), 13.4 x 19.6 cm, 152 pp. In original illustrated smooth-finish uncoated wrappers printed in red and black. Published in the uncut state. Wrappers slightly darkened by time, but remains uncut and unread. Additional images of the book available on request.
