November 1961 UK concert tour program (Fifth British Tour)

Original vintage concert program produced for Norman Granz’ Jazz At The Philharmonic November 1961 British tour, presented by Harold Davison. This was the Fifth British tour since 1958. Performing artists included the John Coltrane Quintet and the Dizzy Gillespie Quintet. Coltrane’s band for the tour featured alto saxophonist and flautist Eric Dolphy, pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Reggie Workman and drummer Elvin Jones. Dizzy was accompanied by alto saxophonist Leo Wright, pianist Lalo Schisrin, bassist Robert Cunningham, and drummer Mel Lewis. The program features delicate artwork by David Stone Martin.

In original green and black illustrated uncoated wrappers, staple bound, 21.1 x 26.8 cm, 20 pp. Program notes by Benny Green. In excellent complete condition, tightly bound and clean. Additional images of the program available on request.
