1951 French “Jazz Selection” promo handbill
Vintage original double-sided first printing promotional handbill issued in 1951 by French record label Jazz Selection to promote releases by American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, composer, and singer Dizzy Gillespie (1917—1993). Jazz Selection was a French label primarily issuing records with American jazz standards. Its parent label was Disques Vogues, an international label founded in France in 1947 by Léon Cabat and Charles Delaunay.
The handbill measures 15.4 x 25.5 cm (approx. 6.1″ by 10″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, uncoated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition.
