Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, New York December 1965 concert program

Original vintage concert program for American composer, pianist and big band leader Duke Ellington’s two performances of “A Concert of Sacred Music” at the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City on Sunday, 26th December, 1965. Besides the Duke himself, performing artists included alto saxophonist Johnny Hodges, bass violinist John Lamb, trombonist Lawrence Brown, baritone saxophonist Harry Carney, clarinetist Jimmy Hamilton, tenor saxophonist Paul Gonsalves, trumpeter Cat Anderson, drummer Louie Bellson, and vocalists Esther Marrow, Brock Peters, Lena Horne, Jimmy McPhail, and Tony Watkins.

In original typographical uncoated wrappers, staple bound, 17.5 x 25.2 cm, 8 pp. Program notes by Reverend Bryant M. Kirkland and Duke Ellington. Some age toning to front wrapper, else in near excellent condition, tightly bound and clean. Additional photos available on request.
