Musikhalle, Hamburg March 1988 concert poster
Original first printing concert poster advertising the Dave Brubeck Quartet at the Musikhalle in Hamburg [Germany] on Monday, 14th March, 1988, presented by Karsten Jahnke. Besides the leader himself, Brubeck’s quartet featured drummer Randy Jones (1944–2016), clarinetist Bill Smith (1926–2020) and bassist Chris Brubeck. With this line-up, Brubeck recorded the excellent Moscow Night – a live album recorded at the Rossiya Concert Hall in Moscow, in March 1987, produced by Russell Gloyd. The poster features a photo of Brubeck by Hans Harzheim, which was originally used to advertise Brubeck’s October 1984 German tour.
The poster measures 59.4 x 84.0 cm (approx. 23.4″ by 33.1″ inches) and is printed in yellow and black inks on thin, coated paper stock. In near excellent unfolded condition.
